Who is Jennifer?

Wife, mother, volunteer...and someone who loves Newton!

Like many others in this City, I am not a Newton native. I was born and raised in New Jersey, just outside of Princeton. After earning a degree in Art and Art History at Colgate University, in Hamilton, NY and a graduate degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania, I moved to Newton. I’ve lived in several neighborhoods in the north part of the City: Newton Corner, Auburndale, West Newton, and Newtonville.

My husband and I are raising two wonderful and active girls, both born and raised in the City. Beckett, age 15, attends Newton North High School and plays lacrosse, field hockey, and ice hockey. Blake, age 10 attends Peirce Elementary and loves to sing and dance. I am currently active in the NNHS PTSO, and have served as co-President of the Day Middle School PTO and as a Board Member of the Peirce PTO.

I am currently the President of the Newtonville Area Council. I am working to facilitate communication between Newtonville residents and the City Council and other city departments. As a Council, we hope to create a forum/mechanism for dealing with various local issues, for fostering community spirit through special events such as Village Day, and connecting with businesses in our Village to help them increase foot traffic and sales.

I am excited to look forward to running for City Council in the future. I am always available to chat and listen to your concerns facing the City, your neighborhood, and your family.
